About Project Dream to Ride

We strive to educate and train our children who demonstrate dedication and commitment to the sport of equestrian. Children of all ages, means and challenges should be able to experience the benefits of riding. Riders are encouraged and empowered with life lessons through a positive and enriching environment. Lack of financial resources should not prevent any rider from experiencing the self-sustaining positive life skills learned while riding and caring for horses. Giving our riders this opportunity, they will learn responsibility, commitment and sportsmanship.
At Project Dream to Ride, we seek to give every child, regardless of limitations, the chance to ride and be successful.
Our Why
Our founder, Vinissa Blann's, desire to be involved in the community started when she was in college. She was studying psychology and wanted to get into sports psychology but unfortunately it was not offered at the time. Instead, she double majored in sociology and child psychology. Blann began interning at a school outside of Center City Philadelphia that was primarily for Justice Involved Youth and had a population of juvenile sex offenders.
She started sitting in on meetings and therapy sessions with these children who were 8 to 17 years old. It was heartbreaking to hear the stories of these children that had such a tough life with no guidance or protection. This school was the safest place for them to be. Her passion and first love has always been horses and she always knew she wanted this to be my path, but now her goal is to be able to incorporate and share her love of horses and riding with kids who need a safe place, a place to learn independence and have to guidance in a setting surrounded with nature and horses.
